It’s a full day on the water with time to let things play out. We’re not locked into a quick plan. We can settle in, make adjustments, and stay on fish once we find what’s working. Some days the bite turns on quickly. Others take a few spots before it clicks.
What kind of fish are we going after?
It depends on the season and conditions, but most trips focus on species like red grouper, gag grouper, scamp grouper, and mangrove snapper, with lane snapper and other bottom fish mixed in. On the pelagic side, king mackerel are common, and there’s always a chance at blackfin tuna. You might also see the occasional surprise, like African pompano when things line up.
Do you usually catch fish on this trip?
Yes. The extra time gives us more room to work through different fishing spots, make adjustments, and stay on fish once we find them. We’re not relying on one stop or one window, which helps us put together a more consistent day offshore and gives you a better shot at the kind of fish this trip is built for.
Do we keep what we catch?
